HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
Bradley and I met in high school. We went to opposing high schools and were set up by a good friend. We dated briefly but nothing serious. We both went on to attend the University of Alabama, where we saw each other at social events but dated other people and went our separate ways before reconnecting later on.
THE PROPOSAL
My mom and stepdad had come into town to meet Bradley’s family for the first time. We had made reservations at Hot and Hot Fish Club for everyone to meet that night. Bradley had been in touch with my mom and my best friend, MacKenzie, and decided to make this night the night he proposed. Before dinner, he told me he needed to pick up something for our moms. As we were driving, the bottom fell out of the sky. It was pouring right as we were getting off at the Birmingham Zoo exit. He proceeded to drive to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, where he eventually proposed! We were so overjoyed but absolutely drenched! It was still magical.
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
I had no idea what I wanted in a dress. I went in blindly with no expectations. The dress I chose was the eighth dress I tried on, and I just knew it was the one for me. I looked over at my mom when I tried it on, and she was crying. I had never felt more beautiful before in my life. The detail, the beading, the daintiness, the design, the fitting and the lace were everything I didn’t know I wanted and more.
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
Be in the moment! Enjoy all of the little things and the big moments. It goes by so fast! Don’t get caught up in the small details and worrying about something going wrong. Your wedding day will be one of the most special days of your life.
