Carly Coyne & Justin Collier: A Vestavia Hills Wedding

How We Met: We were set up on a blind date by some mutual friends from church. They had talked her (Carly) up for a while to me (Justin), and after a few weeks were finally able to meet. Despite the awkwardness, we both knew that the other was someone special.

The Proposal: Justin and I (Carly) had a Saturday filled with our favorite things. It didn’t strike me as out of the ordinary since he’s such a planner. We started at the Pepper Place Market, and then grabbed brunch at one of my favorite places. We planned to go hiking later in the afternoon, and there is a trail that I had been begging to take him to for the past year. He finally agreed. Little did I know that he had scouted the trail out the week before with some friends who would photograph the moment. He acted like he didn’t know where it was or how to get there. He was calm and patient. He walked me down the trail to a spot covered with rose petals and candles. I was still oblivious and thought it was for someone else. “How cute is this!?” I remarked. In the same moment, he handed me letter that lead to the question that I had always dreamed of hearing. So on that trail, on an inconspicuous afternoon, he asked me to marry him.

Favorite Moments: The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was a thrill, and the joy was overwhelming. “We did it!” was common phrase between us the whole evening.

Favorite Details: The venue by far. The design and atmosphere of the Stables at J&D Farms truly made our ceremony that much more special and memorable.
