HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We were introduced by my boss, Childersburg Middle School Principal Jesse Hooks, who was also Hunter’s former high school football coach and a friend of Hunter’s dad, Corky. Corky was working for the school district at the time and mentioned to Jesse that Hunter had moved home. Jesse asked if Hunter was dating anyone, and upon learning he was single, Jesse decided to introduce us. He radioed for me to come to the office and told me that he found someone for me to date. He gave Corky my number on a sticky note to pass along to Hunter. We met a few weeks later for dinner at La Paz, and we have been inseparable ever since!
THE PROPOSAL
Hunter proposed on my family’s July 4th beach trip to DeBordieu, South Carolina. He proposed on the beach at sunset. Everyone told me that we should get dressed to take family pictures on the beach. Hunter was worried we would miss sunset if we went out to dinner, so we all ate Mexican takeout at home in our nicest clothes waiting on “family pictures.” Hunter took me out to Driftwood Beach and proposed to me under the most beautiful sunset. We were greeted back at our beach house with a “She Said Yes” party with our family and friends.
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We had several sessions of premarital counseling at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
WEDDING MOMENTS
We loved that our priest, John Burruss, had us turn around twice during the ceremony to see the friends and family that were there to support us. It was such a special moment to take the day in and feel the love and support from those in attendance.
