HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
Alex and I lived down the street from each other for more than two years and never knew! We ended up meeting through mutual friends one night and made the connection that we were neighbors. We started going on walks after work together every day around the neighborhood, and the rest is history.
THE PROPOSAL
Alex told me that we were taking family pictures for his grandmother’s 80th birthday at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. We showed up and began walking to where he told me we were meeting his family. Before I knew it, Alex was down on one knee, proposing with my best friend, Devin, hiding in the bushes while taking pictures. After he proposed, both of our families were hiding, waiting to celebrate with us. It was such a special day!
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We prepared for marriage by having very intentional conversations about what we wanted our marriage to look like. We prayed that God would bless our marriage and use our marriage as an example of His goodness.
WEDDING MOMENTS
There’s so many special moments from the day, but I think the moment that stood out to me the most was when my uncle, who was our officiant, shared answers to questions we had talked about with him in private during premarital counseling prior to exchanging our vows. We got to hear why we both wanted to marry each other, what we loved most about each other and how we knew we had found the one. It had us both crying!
