It’s time for diamonds and art, stocking kids’ spring wardrobes and more to benefit community causes. Here’s our list of what to do this month.

1. Samford Legacy League Scholarship Luncheon Featuring Jodie Berndt

Thursday, Feb. 7 | 11:30 a.m.

Come out to hear Jodie Berndt, author of nine books including the Praying the Scripture series and Generous Living, share biblical insights and a dose of humor at Samford Legacy League’s Scholarship Luncheon. The event benefits scholarships for students with significant financial needs and challenging circumstances, and will take place at a country club in Vestavia. Additional information may be found at samford.edu/legacyleague. Reservations are required and cost $50, $25 of which is tax deductible.

2. Family Night: Kit’s Fabulous Bubble Show

Tuesday, Feb. 19 | 6 p.m.

It’s time for bubbles! Come out the the library to see Miss Kit’s full show.

3. Whale of a Sale

Feb. 21-22
Thursday 5-9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

4. Super Hero & Princess Breakfast

Saturday, Feb. 23 | 8:30-10 a.m.
Vestavia Hills High School Gym

Meet and greet 40 of your kids’ favorite princesses and super heroes, and it all goes to benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Admission is $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child, or $15 at the door. Get tickets here.

5. Dinner and Diamonds Benefitting Vestavia Hills City School Foundation

Saturday, Feb. 23 | 7-11 p.m.
Vestavia Country Club

The evening is sure to shimmer and sparkle with dinner, entertainment, and silent and live auctions—all to benefit academic “extras” such as professional development, technology and classroom enhancements for Vestavia City Schools. Note it’s at a new (but familiar!) location this year. And props to Pizitz student Sidney Johnson for creating this year’s invitation art. Tickets are $80 each and available at vestaviafoundation.org.
