How We Met: When I (Kristie) started working at ARC Realty in 2014, Brad would stop by the office because his company owned the building, and we would find ourselves chatting. I recall telling a friend about Brad and how I wanted to get to know him more (and about how cute he was)! The timing wasn’t right for anything to happen then, but fast forward a year when I noticed a change in Brad. Thanks to a slight nudge from my boss, Brad asked me out!
The Proposal: We are crazy dog people who love our dogs, Jasper and Noah, dearly. We had been talking about getting a pop art painting of our dogs for a few weeks when Brad suggested that we go to the park to get photos of the dogs to give to the artist. My brother is a photographer, so we naturally asked him to tag along to get a few pictures. While we were taking photos, Brad had attached a note to Jasper’s collar. When Jasper ran up to me, I noticed the note and opened it to find a note saying, “Mom, Dad has a very important question to ask you.” The next thing I knew, Brad was in front of me asking me to marry him.
Favorite Moment: An hour before our outdoor ceremony and reception it started pouring down rain—and by pouring down rain, we are talking flash flooding! Thanks to our amazing day-of coordinators, they pulled together a backup plan. We ended up having a very intimate stairwell ceremony—the only one to ever happen at The Donnelly House—with our family and friends close by. Our close friends sang during the ceremony. The acoustics in their performance was stunning and filled the entire inside of the house.
