RISE Day

This family-friendly, community-wide festival celebrates all the hard work that RISE students have done to raise money for the Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology Program at UAB. This event will have live music, games and a luminary ceremony to conclude the evening and to honor those who have battled against cancer. This event is free and open to the public. Learn more here

Dogwood Prayer Breakfast

The 33rd annual Dogwood Prayer Breakfast–one of the most significant, community-building events in town–will feature local dignitaries and citizens coming together to pray for our communities. Wing Ding

Brought to you by Leadership Vestavia Hills, this competition will feature local businesses cooking up great wings to serve to the public. They will compete for the gold and fill your bellies, too! Tickets are $15 at the gate or $12 in advance. Patrons can also pay $10 at the gate when they donate a canned good item to the Leadership Vestavia Hills Hunger Project. Enjoy live entertainment, games, local vendors’ wares, inflatables and more at this annual celebration of the Cahaba Heights community! Tickets are $15 here, and proceeds benefit the beautification of Cahaba Heights through the Cahaba Heights Merchants Association.

Kick-Up for Down Syndrome

Sunday, April 28 | noon-4 p.m.
Wald Park

Brought to patrons by WBRC, the annual Kick Up for Down Syndrome Alabama kickball game will feature teams of 8-10 people in two divisions: competitive kickball and leisure kickball for those of mixed ages and abilites. The cost is $250 per team. Both divisions will offer friendly competition. There will also be a DJ, games, concessions and more. Learn more and register here.
