How We Met: We met at my apartments pool at Kenley. I (Brittany) was trying to get some afternoon rays when Jacob walked over and asked me what I was doing that night.
The Proposal: Jacob proposed to me under the fireworks at Thunder on the Mountain right in the middle of the finale. The Fourth of July is our boyfriend/girlfriend anniversary, and we have now been together for eight years.
The Wedding Dress: I purchased the Melissa York dress with crepe fabric from Bride Beautiful in Atlanta. It was the fifth dress I tried on! I knew it was the one as soon as I stepped into it.
Favorite Moment: My favorite moment of the day was our first dance. It was to a song he sent me when I was just realizing hey this guy is a good guy and that maybe I should give him a chance.
Favorite Details: I knew I wanted to make my own cake ever since I got into the baking business when I was 15. It was citrus cake with lemon curd filling. I couldn’t deliver my own cake, so my “work” parents Doug and Janet Allen set it up for me and also put the flowers on it. For the groom’s table I got aunts and friends to bake my favorite sweet from each them. My aunt Jerrilyn made Oreo balls, and my aunt Sybil made no bake cookies. It was a big table full of baked goods from the heart!
